Very hairy plant,
0.5m to 2 m long, clambering; leaves to 15 cm long with 10-20 leaflets; leaflets
linear to oval, 1.5-2 cm long; racemes densely 20-50-flowered, strongly secund;
flowers 15-18 mm long, reddish purple to blue; calyx 1/3 to 1/2 the length of
the corolla, gibbous at the base; upper calyx segments long and tapering, the
lower 3 teeth exceeding the tube; pod 2-3 cm long, several seeded; introduced
and escaped
