Annual plant,
10-50 cm high, erect; basal leaves with long petioles, ovate to linear, to 3 cm
broad; cauline leaves united forming a round or angled disk, 3-4 cm broad;
flowers small, white, in racemes; seeds black and shiny; in sandy soil, open to
shady spots, common.
