Flowers
showy, often large, some irregular (3 broad downward pointing tepals adn 3 erect
tepals with 3 petal-like styles) in Iris genus, or regular in the Sisyrichium
genus; the leaves sword-shaped and equitant; plants are perennial from creeping
rootstalks.
