Dicentra formosa (Andr.) Walp.                          Bleeding Heart

Flower-stalk slender, 20-30 cm tall; leaves basal, long-petioled, 2-3 ternate, 15-30 cm broad, divisions numerous, glaucous; flowers in racemes and panicles; both the outer petals somewhat united into a heart-shaped, 2-spurred corolla; fruit a capsule; moist woods in the lowlands.
