Daucus carota L.                           Queen Anne's Lace

Coarse plant, 2-12 dm tall, single-stemmed from a well-developed, bitter, taproot; leaf blades 5-15 cm long, 2-7 cm wide; ultimate segments linear to lanceolate, 2-12 mm long and 0.5-2 mm wide; upper leaves may have leaves more elongate; involucre bracts usually pinnatifid; bractlets of involucel mostly linear and entire; flowers white or yellowish; outer rays or the umbel are narrower in fruit than in flower, the outer rays longer and arching inward; fruit ovoid 3-4 mm long, 2 mm broad; roadsides, disturbed areas, moist open spots.
