Plant trails and
climbs, 2-3 m long; leaves sagittate to hastate, tips acuminate, 2-5 cm long;
flowers usually single in the axils on peduncles almost as long as the leaves;
bracts enclosing and sometimes exceeding the calyx; calyx ovoid-globose; banks
of streams, and other moist areas, common in the Puget Sound area.
