Plant 1-5 dm
tall, upper part of stems with white hairs; stem from a small tuber; leaves
ovate, nearly entire or slightly denticulate, 3.5-6 cm long, truncate or
occasionally cordate at the base; petioles 1/3 as long to as long as the blades;
flowers minute, 2.5-3 mm long, sometimes pinkish in the bud, mostly white; fruit
white hairy; in moist shady woods, common.
Often a troublesome garden weed.
