Leucanthemum vulgare Lam.  (Chrysanthemum leucanthemum L.)                 Oxeye Daisy

Stems 3-8 dm tall; basal leaves 4-10 cm long, obovate, petioles longer than the blades, blades crenate or toothed at the tip; cauline leaves reduced, becoming sessile, a few blunt teeth but variable; heads on long bracteate peduncles, 3-5 cm broad including the rays; bracts in 2 or 3 series, reddish tinged margins, tips erose; receptacle flat; rays many, white, linear, 14-21 mm long; disk flowers yellow; no pappus; native of Europe, fields and roadsides.
