Heavy-scented
shrub, evergreen, 0.5-2 m tall; leaves oval, prominently 3-nerved, finely
denticulate, thick, glabrous and gummy above, puberulent below, 5-8 cm long,
petioles stout; flowers creamy white in terminal panicles, 5-10 cm long;
capsules subglobose, 3-lobed above, nearly smooth; open woods, rather common in
places.
