Boraginaceae                                 Borage Family

Plants mostly rough hairy; leaves alternate, entire, no stipules; flowers regular, perfect; calyx 5-parted, corolla 5-lobed sometimes with appendages or swellings in the throat; ovary usually deeply 4-lobed, forming in fruit 4 seed-like nutlets or separating into 2-seeded nutlets; nutlets attached by a base on inner angle or face to the receptacle which is sometimes elongate.
