Plant scapose,
6-15 cm high; leaves mostly basal, spatulate, blade 1.5-4 cm long, petiole a
little shorter; a few shallow teeth; sparsely hairy on both sides; scapes
several, 1-headed, hairy; head 1.3-2.5 cm wide; involucre in 2 series, 4 mm or
so high, bracts blackish green, ciliolate toward the apex; rays about 50, white
or pinkish, disk yellow; pappus none; in lawns, an escape from gardens.
