A much-branched
shrub, 1-3 m high; young twigs densely hairy; leaves pale green; oblong to
ovate, acute, 2-6 cm long, hairy on both sides when young but losing it when
mature; petioles short and hairy; racemes clustered; corolla white and
urn-shaped; bracts lanceolate; fruit depressed-globose, reddish; along the coast
on the west slopes of the Cascades.
