Adenocaulon bicolor Hook.                             Trail Plant

Slender plant, stem 3-9 dm tall, wooly; leaves mostly toward the base, alternate, petioled, triangular-ovate, cordate, angular-toothed, some-times lobed margins, green above, white wooly below, 5-10 cm long, peti-oles 5-8 cm long, margined; inflorescence glandular, heads few, 5-10 flowered, disciform, a loose panicle; involucral bracts reflexed in fruit; flowers all tubular, outer 3-7, pistillate, inner about the same number, staminate with undivided style, receptacle naked; no pappus; achenes 5-8 mm long, stipitate glandular; open woods, common.
