Anthemis cotula L.                          Mayweed; Dogfennel

Plants 3-6 dm tall, may be somewhat soft hairy, ill-scented; leaves finely dissected into hair-fine sections; heads 2 cm broad, numerous, solitary at the end of the branches, peduncles short, 3-6 cm long; bracts with greenish midsection but scarious or hyaling margins; receptacle conical with bracts above the middle; ray flowers sterile, 6-11 mm long; achenes 1-1.5 mm long, angled, ribs (10) with small tubercles; common weed, introduced.
